It’s beer, it’s lemonade….it’s a Shandy!
The Shandy first appeared in Britain in the mid-nineteenth century. Shandygaff is the older British name for The Shandy – a drink made of beer mixed with lemonade, ginger ale or ginger beer. The result is light, slightly sweet, spiked with hints of lemon or ginger, and easily drinkable. Beer and lemon have been dance partners for decades, so pull out your party shoes and try this pairing to ring in your new year
The Shandy recipe:
- Use pilsner glasses. Pour lemonade half way, finish with beer.
- Looking for a twist? Use ginger beer and a dash or two of bitters. Pour ingredients into a pilsner glass and stir to combine.
