We get a lot (and I mean A LOT) of questions about tips for best application for our lacquer. Here at bL, we live and breathe our Waterless Manicure System…and here’s why. Though a good soak before a treatment has been ingrained in us since (practically) birth, water can actually do more harm than good to your mani.
Fact: Water expands your nail bed, meaning when it dries, your nail bed shrinks. Can you guess what that means? If you said peeling, you would be correct.
Worried about ridding yourself of cuticles? Well, don’t be. Clipping can cause infection if you cut too deep. We’ve all been there–and it hurts. Here’s our step-by-step, foolproof DIY mani system that we think you’ll fall in love with.
Apply Melt Away Cuticle Exfoliator to each cuticle. While you wait for the product to soak in, file and shape your nails.
Gently push back cuticles with a cuticle pusher or your thumbnail. Remove residue with a Scrubbers 2-in-1 Prep & Remover wipe. Apply one coat of Nail Foundation Priming Basecoat to each nail and let dry.
Apply two layers of your favorite lacquer, letting each coat dry in between. Lock it in with a coat of Hardwear Shine UV Topcoat, remembering to wrap the tip.
And there you have it! Three simple steps for a lasting mani, and we’ve even provided you with the infographic below to print and keep for all your at-home mani needs. Make sure to tag us @butterlondon on Instagram, or hashtag #butterlondon to show us your beautiful Waterless Manicures!
