We came, we saw, we conquered. NYFW was short and sweet for us this year, and gave Katie plenty of time to study the shows for key trends for Spring. Click through for her top beauty picks from NYFW!
There was a rebellious energy on th catwalk this season. Lots of black details on the eyes, dark lips, even some black manis and pedis. Of course, there were the expected soft beauty looks like dewy skin, no makeup makeup, and the occasional pop of colour here and there. I feel those things are a given in spring anyway…that’s why the bold black details stood out to me most.
Monse Maisone (makeup by me) was a ‘no makeup makeup’ look with a twist. Fernando (one half of Monse) said he wanted the girls to look kind of bad ass, yet beautiful. I think we did that.
At Jeremy Scott, make was designed by Kabuki. The collection was inspired by the cool kids of the 80’s-it’s so fun I can’t stand it!
I love the pop of colour on the eye at DVF. It’s bold and in your face, but it works as there isn’t much else happening on the face.
My Top 3 Worn IRL
There were black details aplenty, as well as some pretty girly tones. I love the bits of black as it adds dimension to any mani and also has a cool-girl feel. I mean, we wear so much black in the form of accessories: nails are accessories too, you know!
